I've had knee pain for a long time. A couple years ago, while playing hockey, I injured my right knee. I never went to the doc because the pain was bearable. Stupidity in hindsight. It healed enough for me to work and live day-to-day though. Last November I pulled an adductor muscle (groin) playing hockey. The pain was brutal at the time but also healed enough to get by.
Well, I finally got sick of the pain and called the doc. Saw him today and he took some Xrays which looked normal. He ordered a couple MRIs to make sure there are no serious issues. He figures I have a medial meniscus tear in the right knee and a strained adductor muscle.

I'm an Idiot
Mom fixed my tax return. It'll help get some bills paid off.
I ran out of fuel yesterday. Happens every time I get a new(er) vehicle at least once. this one upset me a little more though because the needle wasn't even touching "E" and the idiot light had only just turned on.
Life otherwise is going well. Bought a new pair of running shoes actually fitted correctly to my foot. I'm also probably going to sell some of my hockey gear to get a little extra cash on hand and a new goalie helmet.
Medic class is going well, but wearing me out. Add the ridiculous amount of hours I put in at any of my three jobs. Agh.
Shawn is great. So are the kids. We're having a lot of fun.
My brother decided to get married early, so that planning is coming right along.

New (to me) Vehicle
Picked up a new vehicle on Tuesday. I had been looking for about a week. Wanted a few things, could afford few. Managed to find this 2008 Nissan Xterra S, gently used. Having the dog makes it quite difficult to only have a small 4D car. Although I wasn't dissatisfied with my Sentra, it just wasn't practical.

Happiness
I think I've actually found it. At least, for the time being. I'm busy with Paramedic class, work, the puppy and my girlfriend. Trying to fit time into it all for myself is difficult. My saving grace is that I truly love my job, The dog brings plenty of smiles, and a beautiful woman has given me renewed hope in human relationships.

Global Warming My Ass
-5.2 °F but hey... at least the sun is out right?
Moose and I decided to begin taking walks last night around 11pm. It was really f-ing cold. This morning, the windchill was about -15 while we went for another walk. The good news is he left a steaming pile in the backyard as soon as we returned.
Side note: I'm really sick of the J.G. Wentworth commercials.
I got a 93% on my Anatomy final for the paramedic program. Great considering I bombed the last test. I'm not sure how my instructor weights the test, but I'm hoping the Final Exam score brings me above 90%.
Plans are in the works for another March trip to Vegas. This one without a wedding proposal or a trip to the Grand Canyon. A good friend of mine is getting married this June so we're going out there for his bachelor party. A one-day side trip to the Phoenix area for a White Sox spring training game.
Off to the pet store we go. Moose is about out of food and needs a longer leash.

Progress Report
So, despite a few crappy months things are going well. Crappy is a bad way of putting it. Things weren't all that bad, just not... optimal.
As noted in my last post I've got a puppy now. Things are going well with him so far. Typical growing pains and learning curve.
Probably the biggest change from the last few months is my girlfriend. I was in a spot for a while dating around and not really happy. A friend of mine I've had since high school came back into my life. We've stayed in touch along the way and both happened to be single at the right time. Fun back story since we went to a dance together our senior year but we never really dated then.
Things are really going quite well between us right now. We keep saying we have to move and go slow, but the pace is dictating itself. (if that makes any sense)
